Mothers Day Wish List

First of all, as lame as this sounds I can't believe I now have over 50 readers!! I really thought that no one reads my blog and that it would never happen! So thank you to all of you.  Now, I created a wish list for Mothers Day of things that I would LOVE.  I have no partnerships with any of the items, just purely found them from what I like to call Online browsing.

How cute is that? I am constantly writing down things E is saying.  This is perfect!

Etsy seller:  Simplyaprons

I am so girly and LOVE aprons!

Esty seller:  Bragaboutit

I think this ring is so adorable! I want it!

Since I can't afford facials anymore..this is the next best thing.  And my favorite brand.

UMM... Who doesn't LOVE flowers?

It was actually really hard coming up with items just for ME.  I kept wanting to add things that I want but that really for E.  I can't help it!

The cutest shirt EVER

So I recently became obsessed with Esty.  There is so much stuff to look at!  Now, I'm not sure if I've made it clear how obsessed with Cinderella, E is.  Everything from her jammies, her clothes, panties, dolls, toys, books..etc.. everything Disney Princess!

So when I came across www.nickipicki.com through Etsy I was instantly in LOVE.  I HAD to buy this for E.

Now this picture is awful of E but you can see how amazing this shirt is. I had to spread the word about www.nickipicki.com

Mommy Called The Doctor..

Let me just say we have not had a great week.  My poor baby has been so sick! Let me give you the break down

Last Sat:  Fever & Cough
Sun:  Fever & Cough
Mon: Cough
Tues: Better- Runny nose & Cough
Wed: Trip to doctor.  Got her first breathing treatment.  Later than night FEVER 103.5
Thurs:  Back to doctor.  Has PNEUMONIA. Me FREAKING OUT.  Doctor said as it's not that big of deal as long as she's acting fine and breathing fine.  AKA Me checking her every 2.5 minutes the whole day!!
Friday:  Pale.  Acting much better.

Phew.. I'm exhausted and so is E.  When she is sick, it is the worst feeling in the world.  I hate not being able to fix it.  I'm so thankful that she is doing much better today, and I'm hoping for her to wake up tomorrow doing even better than today.

Review/Giveaway Shushybye Deluxe CD and Book!

I am so excited! Here goes my very first review and giveaway!

First off let me say that when my daughter was around One I began purchasing the "Baby's First TV" channel. It has sign language, gym classes to follow along with your baby and music. Now, one of her favorite shows was the Shusyhbye Dream Band! So I am so excited that I am doing a review that I support and that my daughter loves!

I put the Shushybye CD in right away to see if she would recognize it and sure enough she did! What was so great is that it has all different music genres such as: jazz, blues, and rock n' roll. It even has some lullabies on it which is always helpful to put on to calm down E. You can check out more about the Shushybye's merchandise, and tour dates at http://www.shushybye.com/

The Shushybye: Close Your Eyes book has a hidden message to encourage toddlers to be positive about bed time. My favorite part is that the characters have the most adorable names, " Snoozles, Dozie, and Zeez".

Here is how to enter the GIVEAWAY

From the mouth of a 2 year old..

  • "I stay in big girl bed"
  • "I love you mommy"
  • "One more minute"
  • "More cookie PLEASE"
It's amazing how one day she woke up and was speaking sentences.  I love actually having a conversation with her.  She already knows how to work me with saying please as sweet as she can.

Sick again!

How is it possible that after our great day out yesterday.  And only three hours after E went to bed that she wakes up sick???? I really don't get how it happens that fast.  She had this horrible barking cough like croup.  And a runny nose.  We were up every 2 hours.  We are beyond exhausted.  I'm just glad that it's Sunday and not a work day! I hope it's some 24 hour thing and she wakes up feeling much better tomorrow.

And I'm going to do my best to avoid getting sick too!

The answer is...

So, the FINAL ENT said that E does need her Tonisls and Adenoids taken out.  I'm more relieved to have an answer than anything else right now.  E did great at her appointment too.  She actually let the doctor look in her mouth and she felt really comfortable with him.  Luckily/Unluckily the doctor is booked for a month or so.  I just want my baby to be healthy and safe.
Your looking at the FUTURE Dr. E !

We treated ourselves to popsicles and enjoyed them outside the hospital.

Waiting for an answer..

So two months ago I had called my daughters pediatrician because she was snoring so badly. I could barely sleep hearing it through the monitor. I thought I was just another worried mom and the doctor was going to tell me it's no big deal. Well part of the reason I was calling because I had just read an article in my Parents magazine that snoring isn't such a good thing.. Anyways, the doctor surprised me by saying she needed to go see an ENT. Well ENT # 1 said her tonsils looked fine and sent her (us) to a sleep study. It was BEYOND awful. I'm not even going to go there. Well anyways the results showed she has Significant Sleep Apnea. Which basically means she stops breathing in her sleep. And lets not even talk about what that means if her brain isn't getting oxygen.
So ENT # 1 had said he wasn't really familiar with her age group and was unsure. So I went to ENT #2. He said her tonsils didn't look big so that couldn't be the problem. So he said he's assuming it's the adenoids. So he said if were taking out adenoids we might as well take out tonsils. Well coincidentally ENT # 2 partner did a surgery on my brother when he was younger so I wanted to go with him. So ENT # 3 took one look at her tonsils and he said no way not taking those out. He did an X-ray of her adenoids and wasn't sure about it.....sooooo after waiting almost 2 months were heading tomorrow to the big children's hospital to FINALLY get some answers. I'm sick of waiting for an answer, and I just want to know how we can fix it. I am very glad though that E didn't have a surgery that ENT # 2 wanted to do if it wasn't even necessary. I guess it shows you to always get a second opinion.

So anyway, wish us luck on her appointment tomorrow!

Random thoughts...

So two nights ago I went to check on E at night and she was asleep by her door.  I was so confused why she did that.  Of course I asked her about it and she didn't seem to understand what I was saying.  Well, last night she did it again!  But she was so close to the the door that the door wouldn't even open! I had to gently push the door which pushed her out of the way.  Luckily I put her back in her bed without waking her up.. but why is she wanting to sleep on the floor by the door??

She is getting really good at riding her bike!  As usual she wouldn't hold still for a picture.

We Love the Zoo!

We decided to go on a last minute adventure to the Zoo.  We've been wanting to go for such a long time now.  But Zoo hours don't exactly work with nap time!

This black bear was so close! E and her Grammie with the cute bear.

If you have a Two-year-old.  You know they don't exactly pose for a picture, so this is as good as it gets.

Please don't spank me!

I've seen on several websites today a new article about a study showing that spanking leads to aggressive children. Being a mother and preschool teacher I consider myself an advocate for children. I feel strongly against spanking. To me it is a way parents release their aggression and frustration on their children. To me it is not effective and plain old painful! I hope parents will educate themselves on different discipline techniques that are more beneficial for children.

Shoe Shopping

So yesterday I took E shoe shopping at Nordstroms.  I'm a big fan of Stride Rite shoes for many reasons that I won't waste your time with.  After E rejecting every shoe I showed her she ended up picking See Kai Run shoes.  Which is another brand that I love.  So these are the ones we both agreed on.

They are really cute on, and you can see some of her toes in the peep hole.

4:00 am wake up call

So another piece of information that you may not know about my little E is that every morning at 4 am she wakes up and comes into my bed.  I know your thinking "she's two years old why is she waking up still?".  Well thank you to the lovely transition from a crib to a BIG GIRL BED.  For the past two months she gets up in the night.  I really don't know how to break this habit or I would have tried already.  The sad part is my body is actually used to this routine.  I wish I knew what it felt like to sleep through the night again!

Help! Any ideas on how to get her to sleep through the night and stay in her own bed??

Dinner by the Sea

Last night we went to dinner for Grandpa's birthday.  It was so beautiful having dinner by the ocean.

Ellie, Me and my Sister eating dinner.  Ellie wanted to wear a bib for eating crab like Grandpa.  I think the last time she would let me put a bib on her she was 8 months old!

I love going to places that are kid-friendly.  It makes it so much easier on me.  This resturant had a park right outside! Which was so fun for Ellie and not so fun for me spending most of the time there outside!

Take a lesson from you child

Now I know this picture is out of focus. But look closely at what is in her chop sticks...Shrimp!  Now I wouldn't classify myself as a picky eater, BUT I like to eat things I know I like.  I especially do not like Sea food.

She saw a shrimp and decided to try it! She's braver than I am...at least when it comes to trying new food :)

The Dirt

So I feel weird talking about me since this blog is about my little girl but isn't the purpose of a blog to be open and candid?! So the dirt on me is that my high school sweet heart and I were dating for three years and we decided to get married. We had a quickly planned wedding because he had just gotten out of boot camp. Well a year after being married we decided it was time to have a baby. We got pregnant shortly after trying and well you know the story 9 months later we had a baby girl. Unfortunately our marriage wasn't as happy as I had pretended it was. Two months after we had baby E, I got a call that he wanted a divorce. My first thought was WHAT?? This beautiful baby we just brought into the world is now going to be another statistic of a failed young marriage. Well the following year came: a 5 month Deployment for him, the fast growing of E came and went, my ups and downs of our "separation", and continued pain he caused me resulted in me filing for a Divorce. After a year of me struggling to make it work for my baby, and realizing why am I trying to save a marriage of betrayal and lies to a man that it is not the man I married? So here we are today a little over two years since his dreadful phone call to me and I'm at peace.

Now don't get me wrong EVERYTHING about a Divorce is hard. Not one thing about it is simple or easy. I miss him everyday...the old him that is.  I dream about the image of the family we were supposed to be.  In my mind I go through the what if's and try to figure out what went wrong.  I'll never have the answers.  All I know is that I couldn't be married anymore to the man that he had become. I know it was the healthiest decision for my daughter and I. And I've never regretted it since.

Swimsuit Season

I was looking through the Lucky Magazine over the weekend and saw this cute one-piece from Zac Posen for Target.  I'm going to check it out.  Although I'm back to my pre-baby weight (Shit I hope it's been 2 years) I still am insecure about my stretch marks on my hips.  So for now I'm sticking with one-pieces!

Easter Weekend

We went away for the weekend.. and let me tell you I missed my computer and blogging of course!  I don't know if I'm the only one, but sometimes I feel like traveling with a child is more of hassel than fun.  I'm also an over-packer so that doesn't help the load of work!
E did a great job decorating her eggs!

In our family every Easter morning you get a bag full of candy and a little present! E was digging for some chocolate!

The egg hung begins! Almost every picture is of the back of her head because she w as in hurry to find those eggs she couldn't hold still.  She did a great job finding them.

Look at my eggs Mommy!

Me and E looking for the missing eggs left.

Sesame Street Lovers

American Apparel is helping celebrate Sesame Streets 40th Anniversary.  They came out with this adorable line of Sesame street clothes.  I can't decide which one to buy for E..because I want them all!  Check out American Apparel .

Bedhead

E woke up this morning and look at her hair!!! Can you say detangler?  The Minnie Mouse shirt is actually a regular t-shirt not p.j's.  But, she's had a recent obsession with Minnie Mouse so what can you do?

Well it's true she is a Princess!
